Welcome to the Home Page for
Rabbi Yehudah Prero

Hailing from Chicago, Rabbi Prero concurrently attended the Yeshiva Gedola of Milwaukee (Rabbinical college) and Marquette University, in Milwaukee, WI. He received Rabbinic ordination from Mesivtha Tifereth Jerusalem in Manhattan, and a law degree from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law of Yeshiva University. He currently resides with his wife and children in Baltimore, MD.

YomTov began in March 1995. Rabbi Prero came across Project Genesis, liked what he saw and asked how he could get involved and volunteer his time. At the time, Rabbi Prero had been working on a book about the Passover Hagada. As Project20Genesis had no list about Jewish holidays and observances, let alone Passover, a match was made. Rabbi Prero began YomTov with material on the Passover Hagada, and he continues to write on the subjects of all major (and some minor) Jewish holidays and observances.

LifeCycles began in October 1997. After the Holiday of Sukkot, there is a dry spell in the Jewish calendar. In order to fill this gap, Rabbi Prero decided to respond to the many requests he had over the years to write on the subjects of birth, Bris Milah, Bar Mitzvah, and marriage. Project Genesis staff heard about this temporary curriculum change, and they and Rabbi Prero decided it was more appropriate to make it a permanent fixture, albeit in a new forum - named LifeCycles.

Rabbi Prero is the author of the book “Days of Celebration, Days of Inspiration: The Festivals in Our Lives,” published and distributed by Targum/Feldheim.

Rabbi Prero can be reached at prero@torah.org – but please be patient when awaiting a response.
